Why I think it’s so important to support “Shelter Our Sisters”

Shelter Our Sisters, a Bergen County nonprofit providing safe housing, hotline counseling, and life-changing support services to women and children.Next week is the beginning of our annual fundraiser for Shelter Our Sisters.

Shelter Our Sisters is the amazing organization that provides safe havens in Bergen County for victims of domestic violence. Every year I am excited to raise money for them but always wish I could give them more.

Without Shelter Our Sisters, so many people would be trapped in abusive situations with no place to turn. Personally, the thought of children forced to grow up in these types of violent homes is too much for me to contemplate and I believe anyone with a young child can understand my sentiment.

For the week before Mother’s Day – May 7th through the 12th – we are donating services in the office in exchange for donations to Shelter Our Sisters. Existing practice members can get adjusted (up to $80 normally) for a $25 donation and ANYONE can have their spine evaluated (including x-rays – up to $255 normally) for a $35 donation.

Please help us make this year a great success. If it’s been a while since you had a chiropractic adjustment or had your spine checked, call the office at 201-387-7463 to make an appointment.

Thank You for Supporting Shelter Our Sisters at The Back Care Center

We wanted to thank all of you who made our “Shelter Our Sisters” fundraising week at The Back Care Center of Dumont, NJ a success. We especially wanted to say thanks to all the new patients who came in for adjustments, including the ladies from the Haworth Women’s Craft and Flea Market. We had new patients from Ridgefield Park, Bogota, New Milford, Teaneck, Dumont and, of course, Haworth.

It’s been a tough year for everyone, so it’s not surprising that we didn’t raise as much as we have in previous years. So even though our fundraising drive for Shelter Our Sisters is over, we wanted to take one last opportunity to remind you what a worthy cause they are.

Shelter Our Sisters is always there for women and children who have been the victims of domestic violence, and they never stop needing your help. They need donations, of course, but you can also help by donating your time, or goods like clothing, toys, disposable diapers and more.
